I'm glad you welcome you to my website and my brand new blog!
Thank you so much for being a part of The Wellbeing Shed's journey.
I just wanted to use this first blog post as an opportunity to introduce myself and provide a bit of background as to why and how I got here.
I started my health and wellness journey around 6 years ago, when I started attended group exercises classes at my local gym. I really enjoyed it and a year or so later, one of the instructors asked me if I had ever considered being an instructor myself. She said I had good form and would be great at teaching the classes. I'd never really thought about it before, but her comments planted the idea in my mind.
My mission is to educate people on how great Pilates can be and how it can benefit everyone
I went through a really rough patch shortly after, where I suffered from depression and anxiety. I was signed off work and my main outlet was exercise. It was at that time I decided to go ahead with the training and qualified as a Les Mills Body Pump Instructor. I also gained my Exercise to Music qualification and, around a year later, qualified as a Les Mills Body Balance Instructor.
I loved teaching these classes and realised how much I enjoyed being an instructor, educating people and helping them understand the mental and physical benefits of exercise. From that, I wanted to expand my knowledge and qualifications so I could teach even more classes and offer additional services.
On top of that, I completed my first degree Reiki training and am looking to expand on this...watch this space!
The Introduction to Pilates
I then got into Pilates and again, absolutely loved it. I decided I wanted to train as an instructor as I loved how functional the classes were and the huge range of benefits. It's a form of exercise that everyone and anyone can do and I love how inclusive it is.
After completing my training, I wanted to help as many people as possible and get them to love Pilates as much as I do. Classes are up and running and I'm so excited to share this journey with you all!
My mission is to educate people on how great Pilates can be and how it can benefit everyone. I want all of you to love Pilates and get excited about the classes and the improvements you can make to body and mind.
